Today is the first day of 2017 and I feel a good time to reflect. This year has been a whirlwind with lots of great moments that I will look back on for the rest of my life, but also lots of dark moments that I hope to learn from and keep in my past. In this blog post I want to reflect on my favourite moments of 2016 and set my goals to achieve in 2017.
My favourite moments of 2016 have been;
- Graduating from university with a 2:1
- Seeing James Bay with my best friends
- Getting a full time job
- Seeing Busted with my best friends
- Moving into a flat on my own
- Seeing You Me At Six
- Going to Budapest
- Pushing myself career wise
Things I want to achieve in 2017 are;
Focus on self love
I'm not a very confident person and struggle to see the good in myself. This has always been a huge issue for me and something that holds me back. In 2017, I want to focus on myself and really learn to love who I am and enjoy my own company.
Currently in 2017 I am going to Edinburgh for a weekend, and also going to Amsterdam for a long weekend over my birthday. I want to travel as much as my budget and annual leave will allow me. Whether that be going abroad or just going to different cities in the UK.
See more live music
I absolutely love gigs and seeing live music. There is something about it that makes me so happy and gives me goosebumps everytime. So far, I have two gigs lined up in 2017, You Me At Six and Blink 182. Both of which I am already super excited for because they are two of my favourite bands. I'm also praying that James Bay does another tour because I need to see him in the flesh again!
Volunteer at Cardiff Dogs Home
I am the craziest dog lady ever. I approach dogs in the street just to say hi and have probably seen every dog meme ever. Unfortunately, my current life situation doesn't allow me to get a doggy. If I volunteer at Cardiff it means I get to help out dogs and also make myself a lot happier.
I am a book worm. I love getting lost in fiction and escaping into someone else's world. I've got a list of books I want to read and I definitely want to ensure I spend my time reading rather than scrolling this year. Scrolling through social media, despite sometimes inspiring me, it does make me spiral into a negative mindset. Books however, always make me feel enlightened and inspired.
I would love to know what your new years resolutions are and if you have any tips on how I can achieve mine.
